Watercress: Will It Help Remedy Greasy Hair?

Different people have different problems with their hair.  Some have dry and limp hair, some have greasy hair.

Greasy or oily hair is caused by the overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands which are located near the hair follicles.

Typically, the overproduction of sebum does not last long and can be treated by natural home remedies such as watercress.  This aquatic herb is rich in phosphorous and iron which keeps the production of sebum normal.

Watercress is also rich in other vitamins that are good for the hair like Vitamins E, A and C.

If you are suffering from oily hair, you can make your own watercress blend at home.  However, make sure to check your scalp for any cuts or abrasions before application.  Postpone application until your wound or cut heals.

To make your own watercress anti-oily hair solution, blend a handful of watercress and a cup of water using a food processor.  Continue blending until the mixture is a bit thick.  Then, transfer the watercress in a pan and heat it for about five minutes.

After that, strain the mixture, making sure to throw the watercress leaves away.  Once the liquid has cooled, you can begin applying it to your scalp.  Make sure your scalp is clean and damp.  Leave on the watercress liquid on your scalp for around 20 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
