Can Watercress Be Frozen?

Freezing is the most common way of preserving the life of any vegetable, fruit or herb like watercress.  So when there is a surplus, it is tempting to save the peppery taste of this aquatic green by freezing them.

But the question is can watercress be frozen?

Unfortunately, it can’t.  Although the color and Vitamin C content of watercress is not affected by low temperatures, it has a high water content which makes it unfit for freezing.

The best way to store watercress is to cook it into a lovely soup and freeze it that way as soups freeze well.
